Brigade deepens its Kerala roots with new homes, offices and a backwater resort by 2030.
Discover MoreBengaluru-headquartered Brigade Group has set the stage for one of its biggest regional pushes yet, with plans to pour approximately Rs 1,500 crore into Kerala over the next few years. The announcement was made through an Expression of Interest submitted by Brigade Enterprises Limited, the group's flagship company, at the Invest Kerala Global Summit 2025, in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
At the heart of this expansion are two flagship developments: a new residential project in Kochi and a luxury island resort at Vaikom, a quiet backwater town roughly an hour from the city. Brigade plans to bring in appx Rs 1500 crores investment to the state through the proposed Luxury Island resort and Residential project, according to company statements shared at the summit. Both developments are targeted for completion by 2030.
Vineet Verma, MD of WTC Trades & Projects, a Brigade Group company, framed the move as a natural continuation of the group's Kerala journey, noting that Kerala, with its supportive environment, continues to be our focus area across Commercial, IT Office space, Hospitality and Residential developments. He added that these sectors have shown great promise in terms of growth and potential during the last few years, pointing to Kerala's established position as an IT/ITES and tourism hotspot as a key driver of demand.
The Vaikom resort stands out as a distinctive addition to Brigade's portfolio. Positioned near Kochi's backwaters, the project is expected to offer luxury villas and hospitality-led spaces designed around the region's natural setting, tapping into Kerala's booming tourism economy. Meanwhile, the Kochi residential project is expected to add fresh urban housing stock in a city where demand for quality apartments and gated communities has been rising steadily, backed by the presence of IT parks, hospitals and improving infrastructure.
This Rs 1,500 crore push is expected to create employment opportunities for around 12,000 people over the next five years, according to the company's announcement at the summit. Beyond direct project revenue, this signals a wider economic ripple effect, spanning construction, hospitality operations, and ancillary services once the projects go live.
The investment sits alongside Brigade's other recent Kerala moves, including an MoU with Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram to develop a second World Trade Centre in the state, and the ongoing expansion of WTC Kochi within Infopark with a third tower. Brigade's developments of the WTC Kochi and Four Points Sheraton are testaments to the Group's commitment towards building Kerala's real estate landscape, reflecting a track record the company is now looking to build on.
For homebuyers and investors tracking Kerala's property market, this announcement is a strong signal. A developer with Brigade's scale betting big on Kochi and a lesser-known destination like Vaikom suggests confidence in both the state's urban housing demand and its tourism-driven real estate potential. The Kerala government has committed to providing regulatory support and necessary approvals as per applicable laws, which should help keep these projects on a steady timeline toward their 2030 completion target.
