Kochi has grown from a centuries-old spice trading port into Kerala's largest cosmopolitan city, anchored today by a thriving mix of IT, tourism, shipping and international trade. Once a global spice trade, now a fast emerging IT hub in India, the city of Kochi has developed into the largest cosmopolitan metropolis in Kerala, housing a plethora of industries ranging from tourism, spice, seafood, and shipping, to IT and international trade. The Kakkanad-Infopark belt, in particular, has become the city's IT nerve centre, home to major names in technology and business services.

Infopark houses some of the biggest names in the business such as Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, Wipro and HCL, along with foreign corporations like KPMG, Ernst & Young, Hubbell, Northgate, Nielsen Audio and Xerox. This concentration of employers has made neighbourhoods like Kakkanad, Vazhakkala, Edappally and Vyttila some of the most sought-after residential markets in the city, with steady rental and resale demand from IT professionals, NRIs and relocating families.

Brigade Group has been part of Kochi's growth story for over a decade through the World Trade Center Kochi in Infopark, and is now deepening its presence with new residential and hospitality developments. Brigade has proposed to set up its second World Trade Center in the state with the first being WTC Kochi, and is also looking to expand its footprint in Kerala with a residential project in Kochi and a luxury island resort at Vaikom, expected to be completed by 2030.

Brigade has already signed and initiated the expansion of WTC in Kochi Infopark with its 3rd Tower, taking its IT infrastructure to over a million sq-ft, and with the proposed luxury island resort and residential project, plans to bring in approximately Rs 1,500 crore investment to the state. This mix of commercial, residential and hospitality development signals long-term confidence in Kochi's real estate market.
