Brigade Hotel Ventures Signs Hyatt Deals for Chennai & Bengaluru

Brigade Group's hospitality arm has struck a fresh partnership with global hotel major Hyatt, marking its entry into the Hyatt fold with two upcoming properties in South India. Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the signing of management agreements with Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL) and BCV Developers Private Limited, part of the Brigade Group, for two properties with Hyatt in India, Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, respectively. The announcement signals a broader push by Brigade to diversify its hotel brand partnerships beyond its existing tie-ups with Marriott, Accor and IHG.

The flagship of the two announcements is Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR. BHVL signed a management agreement with Hyatt for Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR, a hotel on the southeastern coast of India on East Coast Road, planned to open in 2029, with the property offering approximately 200 guest rooms along with five dining venues — a signature restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a pool bar and a lobby lounge — as well as wellness facilities and multiple event spaces. The hotel is designed to cater to premium leisure and business travellers and is also positioned for wedding buyouts, staycations and MICE events.

On the Bengaluru side, the deal covers a serviced-apartment concept closer to the airport. BCV Developers Private Limited signed a management agreement with Hyatt for Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, a greenfield development planned for completion in 2027, featuring 135 serviced apartments designed for both extended stays and short getaways, located approximately 20 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport. The property will serve the Devanahalli tech corridor, which includes upcoming IT Parks, the Aerospace Science Park, and the planned Financial City.

Speaking on the Chennai signing, Nirupa Shankar, Managing Director, Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited, said, "We are happy to announce our plans for Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR, a world-class hotel that will redefine the hospitality landscape in Chennai. This will be our first hotel with Hyatt, and we are confident in Hyatt's global expertise in managing large-format MICE hotels." On the Bengaluru property, Amar Mysore, Director of BCV Developers Private Limited, commented, "The Hyatt House brand is a perfect fit for the Devanahalli locality, offering a blend of comfort and convenience that meets the needs of today's business and leisure travellers." Hyatt's own development leadership echoed the enthusiasm, with the company's executive adding that Chennai and Bengaluru are dynamic markets with strong demand for hospitality, aligning with Hyatt's strategic vision of expanding its brand presence in key leisure and business destinations across India.

This is not Brigade's first foray into branded hospitality — far from it. Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited is an owner and developer of hotels in key cities in India primarily across South India, and is the second largest owner of chain-affiliated hotels and rooms in South India as of 2025. The Company, a subsidiary of Brigade Enterprises Limited, has a portfolio of nine operating hotels across Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Mysuru and GIFT City with 1,604 keys. The company went public in 2025, and at the time of its listing had already flagged ambitions to work with premium global brands. BHVL had signalled plans to expand its portfolio with new luxury and upper midscale properties under brands like Grand Hyatt, Fairfield by Marriott, InterContinental, and The Ritz-Carlton, targeting completion between FY28 and FY29. The Hyatt signings deliver on that stated strategy.

For homebuyers and investors tracking these two micro-markets, the news carries real relevance beyond hospitality circles. A confirmed 200-key Grand Hyatt on ECR adds a marquee hospitality anchor to a stretch of Chennai's coastline that has been steadily gaining residential and second-home interest, while a Hyatt House just minutes from Kempegowda International Airport reinforces Devanahalli's positioning as North Bengaluru's fastest-growing employment and infrastructure corridor. With construction timelines set for 2027 (Bengaluru) and 2029 (Chennai), both projects are still in early planning stages, but the signing of formal management agreements is a firm commitment that moves them from concept to committed pipeline.
