Brigade lays WTC Technopark's foundation and opens Brigade Square, expanding Kerala's IT landscape.
Discover MoreBrigade Group has taken a decisive step in its Kerala growth story, with the developer conducting a foundation stone-laying ceremony and Bhoomi puja for its flagship World Trade Center (WTC) at Technopark Phase I, Kazhakkootam, on February 11, 2026. The event was attended by Seeram Sambasiva Rao, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics & IT, Government of Kerala, who unveiled the ceremonial plaque. On the same day, the company also inaugurated Brigade Square, a 1.85 lakh sq. ft. IT building located near Technopark's Park Centre, in a facility inaugurated by Sandip Kumar, IAS, CEO of Technopark, in the presence of M.R. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Enterprises.
The upcoming WTC tower is designed as a substantial addition to Technopark's Grade A office stock. The WTC will consist of 20 floors, plus ground and four basements, and will come up alongside a high-end 237-room business hotel managed by Marriott International. Designed to serve as a global business hub, the WTC aims to enhance the local IT ecosystem and attract international investment to the capital. The project builds on an MoU signed in January 2025, under which Brigade planned to develop about 1.5 million sq.ft of premium office space including a business class hotel, positioning it as an international landmark for the city of Thiruvananthapuram.
Speaking at the ceremony, M.R. Jaishankar said Brigade believes in the transformative power of infrastructure to elevate cities into global economic hubs, adding that the company's commitment to Kerala is driven by the state's exceptional talent pool and its emerging potential as a primary growth engine for South India. Technopark CEO Sandip Kumar highlighted the capital city's connectivity, skilled workforce, and upcoming IT policy incentives as major strengths that will support sustained growth. Hrishikesh Nair, President of WTC, further detailed the Group's roadmap, outlining plans for IT infrastructure development in Thiruvananthapuram to create a comprehensive ecosystem for global companies.
Brigade's Kerala ambitions extend beyond the capital city. At the event, the company also revealed expansion plans in Infopark Kochi, where Brigade intends to add another tower to its existing WTC, scaling total IT office space to one million sq. ft. This builds on Brigade's 2024 land lease agreement with Infopark for a 16-storey, 2.6 lakh sq. ft. third tower (WTC Tower C), a Rs 150-crore project expected to generate around 2,700 direct jobs. The existing twin towers at Infopark Kochi, spanning a combined 7.7 lakh sq.ft, are fully leased and house companies including KPMG, IBM, UST Global and other MNCs.
For homebuyers and investors tracking Kerala's real estate trajectory, these back-to-back launches signal sustained momentum in the state's commercial real estate sector, particularly around IT corridors in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. Industry observers note that improved connectivity, policy support, and availability of skilled professionals continue to draw corporate occupiers to Thiruvananthapuram, a trend that typically spills over into demand for quality residential developments near these employment hubs.
With the WTC and Brigade Square launches, Technopark's growth trajectory enters a new phase, reinforcing Kerala's ambition to emerge as a global technology and investment destination. Brigade Group, which already holds WTCA licenses across major South Indian cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Devanahalli, is positioning Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi as twin engines of its Kerala commercial portfolio, with combined investment commitments running into thousands of crores over the coming years.
