Brigade and Hyatt Sign Deals for Chennai ECR and Bengaluru Devanahalli Hotels

Brigade Group's hospitality push has taken a significant turn with the signing of two new management agreements with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, marking the developer's first-ever collaboration with the global hospitality major. The agreements, announced by Hyatt's Chicago headquarters, cover two very different but equally strategic properties: a beachfront luxury hotel on Chennai's East Coast Road and a serviced-apartment development near Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport.

The Chennai property, Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR, will come up on a premier beachfront hotel on the scenic southeastern coast of India, offering approximately 200 guest rooms, five distinct dining venues including a signature restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a pool bar, a lobby lounge, wellness facilities, and multiple sophisticated event spaces. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2029 and will cater to premium leisure and business travellers, ideal for wedding buy outs, staycations and MICE. Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited (BHVL), the developer's listed hospitality arm, has signed this agreement, and its Managing Director Nirupa Shankar noted that Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR is a world-class hotel that will redefine the hospitality landscape in Chennai, adding that this will be their first hotel with Hyatt, backed by confidence in Hyatt's global expertise in managing large-format MICE hotels.

The second project, Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, is being developed by BCV Developers Private Limited, another Brigade Group entity. This is a greenfield development that will cater to the growing demand for extended-stay accommodations in Bengaluru. Located just 20 minutes from Kempegowda International Airport, this property will feature 135 serviced apartments, designed to meet the needs of both business and leisure travelers. The property is expected to open in 2027, and its amenities are set to include an all-day restaurant, a bar, meeting spaces, a swimming pool, and a fitness center. Notably, the location places it directly in the path of Devanahalli's rapid infrastructure growth, an area that will serve the rapidly growing Devanahalli tech corridor, which includes upcoming IT Parks, the Aerospace Science Park, and the planned Financial City.

Amar Mysore, Director of BCV Developers, described the Hyatt House brand as a natural fit for the location, saying the Hyatt House brand is a perfect fit for the Devanahalli locality, offering a blend of comfort and convenience that meets the needs of today's business and leisure travelers, with proximity to the airport and upcoming tech parks making it a prime location. From Hyatt's side, Dhruva Rathore, Vice President of Development for India & Southwest Asia, said the company is excited to work with Brigade Group through the signings of Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR and Hyatt House Bengaluru Devanahalli, confident guests will savour memorable moments whether travelling for business, with family or gathering with colleagues.

This deal comes at a moment when Brigade's hospitality arm is scaling up aggressively. BHVL, which listed separately on the BSE and NSE in July 2025, already has a portfolio of nine operating hotels across Bengaluru (Karnataka), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Kochi (Kerala), Mysuru (Karnataka) and the GIFT City (Gujarat) with 1,604 keys, and is recognised as the second largest owner of chain-affiliated hotels and rooms in South India in 2025. Alongside the Hyatt tie-up, BHVL has previously signed deals with other global chains, and the company is aiming to double its operational portfolio to over 3,300 keys by FY30.

For homebuyers and investors tracking Brigade's broader integrated developments, this hospitality expansion signals continued confidence in Chennai and Bengaluru as high-growth markets. A beachfront five-star property on ECR is likely to boost visibility and demand along that corridor, much as branded hotel presence has done for other coastal stretches in India. Similarly, a Hyatt-branded serviced-apartment offering right next to Devanahalli's expanding tech and aerospace ecosystem adds a layer of infrastructure credibility to that micro-market — good news for residential buyers eyeing homes in the airport corridor, since hotel and serviced-apartment investments typically follow (and reinforce) broader civic and commercial development in an area.

Both projects remain in the pre-construction, management-agreement stage, so ground-level activity and RERA registrations are still awaited. Homebuyers interested in Brigade's residential projects near either location should watch for updates as these hospitality assets move from paper to construction — they're often an early signal of a developer's long-term commitment to a micro-market.
