What makes this proposal notable is the scale-up from Brigade's earlier plans for the same stretch of Old Madras Road. Brigade Group had initially proposed around 45 floors per tower when the project was first conceptualised, and the revised proposal now increases the height to 50 floors, indicating a shift toward taller vertical residential towers in the updated development plan. Each tower is expected to reach a height of around 160 metres, which is well within the 200-metre maximum height permitted in the area under current planning norms — meaning the developer has significant headroom before hitting regulatory ceilings.
The move is consistent with a broader trend of Bengaluru's skyline pushing upward as land in established micro-markets grows scarcer. Citywide, the tallest structures already touch the 160-metre mark, and Budigere Cross — long known for mid-rise gated communities — is now entering that same high-rise league. The scale of the project reflects growing housing demand in East Bengaluru, particularly in areas that offer connectivity to Whitefield, KR Puram, and the Old Madras Road corridor.
Location continues to be the biggest draw for this corridor. Brigade Budigere Cross has emerged as an important residential growth belt due to its proximity to Whitefield's IT hubs, the KR Puram railway and metro corridor, and upcoming infrastructure projects such as the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR). The STRR, once fully operational, is expected to give Budigere Cross a more direct link to Kempegowda International Airport via Devanahalli, bypassing much of the congestion that currently plagues routes through Hebbal and Yelahanka — a factor that has kept investor interest in this belt steadily rising over the past few years.
Brigade already has an established footprint in the immediate vicinity, with existing and under-construction communities such as Brigade Calista, Brigade Citrine, and the original Brigade Budigere Cross project (five towers on a 10.75-acre parcel) already active in the same micro-market. The new 50-storey proposal signals that the developer sees enough sustained demand in the corridor to justify a considerably denser, taller footprint than its earlier launches in the area.
For homebuyers, a taller tower format typically means more units sharing common infrastructure, but also better views, larger clubhouses, and amenity decks that can be spread across podium levels rather than compressed into a smaller mid-rise footprint. It also usually means a longer runway to possession, since super high-rise construction requires more elaborate structural engineering, fire safety systems, and phased approvals from BBMP and other civic authorities.
As of now, the project is still at the proposal stage, and formal RERA registration, detailed floor plans, and pricing are yet to be released. Homebuyers and investors tracking Budigere Cross should watch for the official launch announcement, which typically follows RERA approval and will likely clarify unit sizes, configurations, and possession timelines for this ambitious addition to Brigade's East Bengaluru portfolio.
