Brigade Group is planning one of its most ambitious residential developments yet in East Bengaluru. According to recent project filings, Brigade Group is planning a major high-rise residential development at Budigere Cross on Old Madras Road, East Bengaluru, with five towers rising up to 50 floors with a total of 1,930 apartments, marking one of the largest upcoming residential communities in the corridor. The project is currently being referred to in planning circles as Brigade Budigere Cross, though the developer has not yet issued a formal launch announcement.
On the design front, the scale of the towers is significant. The proposed development will feature five residential towers, each designed with 4 basements + ground + 50 floors. Every tower is planned to reach a height of around 160 metres, which is well within the 200-metre maximum height permitted in the area under current planning norms. This puts the project among the taller residential high-rises proposed anywhere in Bengaluru's eastern corridor.
Interestingly, the project has already undergone a design revision. Brigade Group had initially proposed around 45 floors per tower when the project was first conceptualised, and the revised proposal now increases the height to 50 floors, indicating a shift toward taller vertical residential towers in the updated development plan. Such revisions are common at the planning-approval stage, as developers optimise floor-space index (FSI) and saleable area before finalising layouts.
With 1,930 units spread across just five towers, this will be a genuinely large-scale vertical community. The project is expected to include a total of 1,930 residential units, making it one of the larger residential developments proposed in the Budigere Cross micro-market, reflecting growing housing demand in East Bengaluru, particularly in areas that offer connectivity to Whitefield, KR Puram, and the Old Madras Road corridor.
The choice of location is no accident. Budigere Cross has emerged as an important residential growth belt due to its proximity to Whitefield's IT hubs, the KR Puram railway and metro corridor, along with upcoming infrastructure such as the Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), which is expected to further improve connectivity across East Bengaluru in the coming years.
This proposed tower is not Brigade's first bet on the Budigere Cross-Old Madras Road belt. The developer already has an established presence here through projects like Brigade Exotica, Brigade Citrine, and Brigade Buena Vista, alongside its commercial development, Brigade Signature Towers, on the same stretch. This track record of sustained investment in the micro-market lends credibility to the scale of the newly proposed high-rise, even at the pre-launch stage.
